A perfect storm of styles

Occupant Fonts issues alert that Magmatic is now available at Type Network

In light of Occupant Font’s previous work, it’s always easy to forecast striking yet useful designs every time something new blows in from the Providence-based design studio. A new website and the fluid Magmatic are the latest downpours. The latter is a sans superfamily designed by Cyrus Highsmith and June Shin, inspired by Japanese Shōwa era sans type from signage, shipping labels, and factory buildings.

Magmatic Styles

Magmatic is a flexible yet sturdy typeface, allowing the overall atmosphere of your message to vary considerably according to the styles chosen for the layout. Ranging from Thin Compressed to Black Extended, the underlying personality is consistent though the numerous weights and widths, but the tone can swing from a heat wave to a blizzard. These details shine in large sizes and Magmatic is best used for display settings above twenty four points.

Observe the conditions of your layout to check the required parameters for an auxiliary typeface. Occupant’s radar suggests that optimal pairings would be Gimlet, Ibis, or Belizio. What’s your sky reading?

Like all Occupant fonts, Magmatic can be licensed 24/7—for print, web, mobile apps, and ePubs. Webfonts may be tested for thirty days and desktop trials are available upon request.
